An agreement has recently been signed by which Pearson Institute of Higher Education (PIHE) would change ownership from The Global Pearson Education organisation to a consortium of EXEO Capital and Stellenbosch Graduate Institute (SGI)
The change of ownership has not and will not occur until regulatory approvals have been finalised. Further details will be made available in due course.
Pearson will continue to focus on fully supporting PIHE and its stakeholders until the transaction, and a smooth transition, has been completed.
All existing operations of PIHE remain in place and this does not affect the applications and enrolments of any existing or new students on any of PIHE’s programmes and any of its campuses.
PIHE remains committed to provide quality education accredited by the Council of Higher Education (CHE), registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). The change of ownership will not result in a change in accreditation, and we will continue to deliver quality, accredited education that is internationally recognised.
Pearson would like to reiterate that this does not, in any way, signal Pearson’s exit from South Africa. It also does not change the commitment Pearson and PIHE have made to provide quality education in South Africa.
