The multidisciplinary nature of this qualification prepares you for work in many areas of business and is an excellent foundation for careers in commerce, marketing and human resources. It is also a pathway to a Bachelor of Law (LLB) for those of you that want to practise law.
Our degree is broad and intensive. You will cover the general principles and techniques of commerce and law within the context of specialist commerce groups. The core commerce majors are Business Management and Human Resource Management. You also gain invaluable understanding and skills in Business English, Computer Skills, Industrial Relations and Economics. You will also study a range of law modules in the field of Private and Mercantile Law. Because of our qualification’s unique emphasis on application, you will select, conduct and present a research project and complete an internship in your third year of study.
You need a South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) with Bachelor degree entry or an equivalent foreign secondary qualification on an NSC level with Bachelor degree entry approved by Universities South Africa (USAF).
OR
If you have an international school-leaving certificate, you need to provide a certificate of exemption issued by Universities South Africa (USAF).
OR
You should have successfully completed the relevant Pearson Institute foundation programme. On successful completion of the foundation programme, students are required to apply to Universities South Africa (USAF) for a certificate of exemption in order to be admitted to a degree programme.
OR
You should have successfully completed a higher certificate qualification in a cognate field.
AND
You need 25 or more Pearson Institute points.
While all campuses offer the same standard of education, our campuses fall into 2 different tiers depending on the facilities and activities that are available on the campus. This means that you only pay for what you get – nothing more. In this way, we strive to accommodate our students’ learning needs and budgetary requirements.
